Chicago Cubs Draft Gretzky. Oh Yeah, and 8 Losses in a Row

The Chicago Cubs drafted Wayne Gretzky’s son, Trevor, 219th overall.  He’s 18 but apparently he’s a chip off the old block. He’s hit for cycle and has an average of .341.  Not bad at all and it looks like the Cubs could use him.  Now, before everyone gets their hopes up, he’s committed to San Diego State and the tutelage of Tony Gwynn.  He wears number 99, one of the most famous numbers in history.  Wouldn’t that be something if he played for the Cubs?  You know I’d be getting one of those jerseys.

The Cubs have lost eight in a row and sit at 12 1/2 games back of St. Louis.  I hate to say this but the team needs an overhaul.  Get rid of Hendry? Quade? Zambrano?  I don’t know and I’m not a big fan of changing up teams dramatically in the middle of the season but something needs to be fixed.  I mean no offense to Pirates fans but when was the last time you guys were 6 1/2 games out of first?

So, after careful deliberation I consulted an expert and here is what she said:

Hope you don’t mind long waits 😉 Still, pretty cool story nabbing the Great One’s kid.

Yeah, Wayne Gretzky’s first sport was baseball.

Definately cool getting the spawn of Greztky. Let’s hope he has his dad’s talent, and not Uncle Brent. I’d like to see him with Peoria next season if he doesn’t enroll at SDSU, that way I’d have a chance to see him play against the Whitecaps.
